The December letter includes a response to the cancellation/postponement of the visit of Naomi Chazan because of pressure from the local Jewish Right. The scandal also concerns the campaign against the New Israel Fund by the Right in Israel and the USA, and now locally.

But the best defence of the NIF concentrates not so much on the facts and figures but on the principles involved. Dr Nathan Cherny in Jerusalem has taken up the comments made by Dr Danny Lamm, President of the Zionist Council of Victoria, whose organisation withdrew support from a local fund-raising meeting which was due to be addressed by Naomi Chazan, the president of the NIF.

Other articles include an eye-witness account of recent protest marches in Gaza, and views on segregated buses in Israel and the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions Campaign. The views expressed are what you rarely read elsewhere.
